SITTING NOOK - STYLING CONCEPT

A quiet corner, thoughtfully layered

Soft botanicals, comfortable seating and warm natural finishes come together in a nook design for reading and conversation

The starting point

The client owned these blue shelves and was ready to move them from her garage to her bedroom to start a reading nook. We built the nook this piece with softer colors, warm materials and cozy seating.

Let the wallpaper set the palette

Green leaves connect with the sage chairs. Blue flowers echo the shelving while pink details carry through the piping and dusty rose pillow. The ivory background keeps everything light but calming.

Warmth and contrast

The walnut table adds depth to the soft palette. Its simple shape balances the curved chairs and gives both seats a shared surface.

A striped pillow, textured rose cushion, and woven throw add variety. Their smaller patterns and solid colors let the wallpaper lead.

A Softer Mix

Room To Settle In

Comfortable chairs and a reading lamp give the nook a purpose. The neutral rug connects the seating and adds softness underfoot.

Why this works

The colors repeat, but the materials and patterns vary. Blue shelving gives the nook depth, sage upholstery softens it, and small touches of pink bring warmth. Walnut and brass balance the pastel tones, while quieter textiles give the floral wallpaper room to stand out.
