Pricing
Wallpaper is an investment, and you should feel confident every step of the way. We believe in transparency, so we've outlined what you can expect to invest—not only in our services, but also in wallpaper and installation.
The pricing for our consultation services can be found here. Everything below is designed to help you better understand the investment in wallpaper and installation.
Understanding Wallpaper Costs
Wallpaper is one of the most transformative ways to elevate a space, but pricing isn't always straightforward. Every manufacturer has different roll sizes, materials, and pattern repeats, making it difficult to compare products or estimate costs at a glance.
Here are the biggest factors that influence wallpaper pricing:
Pattern Repeat
Large pattern repeats require additional material so the design aligns correctly, increasing the number of rolls needed for your project.
Material
Wallpaper comes in a wide variety of materials, from printed papers and non-wovens to handcrafted grasscloths, vinyls, and murals. Material selection is one of the biggest factors affecting price.
Roll Size
Not all wallpaper rolls provide the same amount of coverage. Roll width and length vary by manufacturer, making accurate measurements and quantity calculations essential.
Project Examples
Every project is unique, but these examples provide a general idea of how wallpaper quantities and costs come together in real homes and commercial spaces.
Example: House of Hackney Bedroom
This bedroom has a total of 432 sq ft (4 walls, 12’ wide, 9’ tall) and the client wanted all four walls covered.
The wallpaper from House of Hackney, comes in single rolls comprised of 4 9’10” panels, each 1’5” wide and it comes in traditional paste only.
This specific paper, Hollyhocks, has a 20.5” repeat
To ensure proper installation around doors, windows and extra in case of future repairs, the bedroom would need 9 rolls.
The cost of this material is approximately $3200 before sales tax and shipping.
Example: Funky Paper Bathroom
This bathroom is approximately 70 sq ft with four walls measuring roughly 7’ x 10’ and a 9’ ceiling.
With wainscoting on the lower third, only the top 6’ is papered — reducing the wallpapered area to about 46 sq ft of coverage per wall.
Using Funky Paper Co’s Magnolia Paperie x Katie Blasko “Ducks – Green” in matte traditional finish, each roll covers ~56 sq ft.
Total coverage needed: ~185 sq ft. The bathroom would require 4 rolls to allow for pattern matching and extra for trimming.
The cost of this material is approximately $1,120 before sales tax and shipping.
Example: Philip Jeffries Restaurant Feature Wall
This feature wall measures 25’ wide by 12’ tall, for a total of 300 sq ft of wall space.
The selected material, Philip Jeffries GV103: Deco Leaf – Sunburst, is a specialty wallcovering sold by the yard and trims to 36” wide.
Total yardage needed:
Each yard covers 9 sq ft (36” × 36”).
300÷9=33.3300 ÷ 9 = 33.3300÷9=33.3 yards needed.
Since Philip Jeffries sells in 8-yard bolts, you would order 40 yards (5 bolts) to ensure full coverage and a small buffer.
This material has no pattern repeat, minimizing waste and simplifying installation.
The cost of this material is approximately $8,480 before sales tax and shipping.
Understanding Installation Costs
Wallpaper installation costs vary depending on several factors, including:
Wall preparation
Ceiling height
Material type
Pattern repeat
Room complexity
Ceiling installations
Murals
Architectural details
Most residential installations fall between $5–15 per square foot, though specialty materials and complex installations may fall outside that range.
During your consultation, we'll provide a preliminary installation estimate based on your project and, when appropriate, coordinate with one of our trusted installation partners to develop a more accurate quote.
Because of our long-standing relationships with experienced installers, our clients often benefit from preferred pricing that isn't typically available when hiring independently.
