CHINOISE POWDER ROOM NOOK - STYLING CONCEPT

A fresh start, full of color

A colorful scenic wallpaper sets the direction for this powder room, paired with rich wood, warm brass, and playful finishing touches.

The starting point

The existing wallpaper needed to come down, and the clients were ready to start from scratch. Their brief was clear: go bold and colorful. We used that freedom to rethink the room, from the vanity and lighting to the smallest details.

Let the wallpaper set the palette

Green leaves connect with the sage chairs. Blue flowers echo the shelving while pink details carry through the piping and dusty rose pillow. The ivory background keeps everything light but calming.

Rich wood, clean lines

The dark wood vanity gives the colorful pattern a grounding element. Fine vertical fluting adds texture, while the simple drawer fronts and pale countertop keep the composition from feeling too busy.

Brass connects the faucet, mirror, lighting, and towel ring. The slim mirror frame and simple sconces bring a quieter set of shapes to the detailed wallpaper.

Warmth through brass

A playful finishing touch

A red scalloped wall vase picks up the wallpaper’s coral tones and adds an unexpected detail. A white hand towel with blue edging repeats another color from the paper without introducing a second strong pattern.

Why this works

The wallpaper carries most of the color and pattern, giving the other pieces a clear role. Dark wood adds depth, brass brings warmth, and pale surfaces offer a place for the eye to rest. Repeating red and blue in small details makes the room feel connected without matching everything.
